A fun but structured class studying the JDNZ examination syllabus.
Jazz classes include warm ups, warm downs, barre and centre exercises along with routines and a teacher choreographed dance in such a format that the students really enjoy the work whilst they are learning the necessary basic skills of dancing.
The emphasis is on versatility, so as well as the jazz work, it introduces a little hip hop, soft shoe, cabaret, contemporary, modern ballet, Spanish, soft shoe tap and even Rock’n’Roll.
The grade exercises have been checked by a professional physiotherapist (Graham Allison) to ensure the work is safe for young bodies.
Dancers sit examinations, compete in our exam dance competition and perform in our show.
One class per week, 30-90mins (depending on grade)
